Deep Wells and Schools in Somalia

Challenges

The drought in Somalia has left people displaced and facing the struggle of homelessness due to the lack of rainfall.

Expectation

Provide potable water and irrigation to stabilize and end the suffering of families displaced by droughts, resettle them and help them resume their normal lives, of which children’s education is an essential part.

Impact

By providing sustainable water sources for the affected population and their livestock, and establishing primary schools near wells to support the local population and encourage migrants to return and settle, the country’s recurring drought has been addressed, saving communities and their livestock, and helping them to resume a normal life, of which children’s education is an important part.
