King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Foundation for Humanitarian Activities has signed a cooperation agreement with Sekaya Charitable Foundation to establish a joint financial portfolio that will support water supply projects in the most underserved regions. The agreement also aims to enhance the capacity of civil society organizations working in this field.
The signing ceremony took place under the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mesheiti, Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, with the presence of Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sheibani, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Water, during the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, held in Riyadh from December 2 to 13, 2023.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Mr. Suliman bin Abdulaziz Azzabin, CEO of the Foundation, and His Excellency Engineer Abdulrahman bin Suliman Al-Rashoud, CEO of Sekaya Charitable Foundation.
This partnership focuses on improving access to water in remote areas through innovative, sustainable solutions that meet local needs and strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations. It also aims to ensure the long-term sustainability of vital water resources in the face of increasing global demand and the challenges posed by climate change.
