King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Foundation for Humanitarian Activities has officially launched King Abdullah Mobile Hospital Project in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
This initiative is one of the key components of the Mobile Medical Clinics Program operating across seven Asian countries. It is part of the charitable initiative Fael Khair, established by the late Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz -may he rest in peace- and is being implemented in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank.
The project is designed to deliver essential healthcare services to remote riverine regions through five floating medical clinics. These clinics provide a range of fundamental health services, including ophthalmology, dentistry, diagnostics, surgical procedures, as well as laboratory testing, pharmacy services, and radiology. In addition, the project offers health awareness and education programs, delivered by qualified medical teams and public health volunteers. It is projected that the initiative will benefit more than three million individuals over the next five years.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the esteemed CEO of the Foundation, the Director of the Special Funds Department at the Islamic Development Bank, and senior officials from Bangladesh’s Ministries of Finance and Health. The event underscored the strength of international partnerships and the importance of coordinated humanitarian efforts.
This project is an extension of the Foundation’s broader Mobile Medical Clinics Program, which operates across seven Asian countries, including Bangladesh, and serves over 1.1 million beneficiaries annually. The program encompasses 75 mobile clinics currently operating in Afghanistan, Yemen, India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Bangladesh.
These efforts reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s enduring commitment to humanitarian leadership, as demonstrated through its initiatives and institutions dedicated to providing relief and development assistance to those in need across the globe, affirming its core values of generosity and human solidarity.
