His Royal Highness Prince Mish’al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Jeddah, Launched the introductory campaign of King Abdullah Vision and Wisdom 2018 on Friday evening in Jeddah. This is the campaign second stop on its journey around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event took place at the Red Sea Mall complex off King Abdullaziz Road and it will remain there for Five days before it departs towards its third stop. His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, King Abdullah International Foundation’s, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Trustees was the first attendee. Many visitors and honorary guests were also at the event including His Royal Highness Prince Bandar bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, His Highness Prince Badr bin Saud bin Saad bin Mohammed and a number of government officials.
“King Abdullah, may God have mercy on him, was a great father and great man before he was king. What he offered to the Kingdom will not be forgotten especially for us here in Mecca Al Mukaram Region where the holey mosque witnessed its largest expansion in history by him. His work won’t be forgotten because it covered all the cities and regions within the Kingdome regardless of its size or number of population. Further, if we took a step back and looked at his era, even though it was not long, we will notice the blooming number of universities around the country and the advancement of this country on many fronts.” said Prince Mish’al bin Majid bin Abdul Aziz, after touring the campaign trucks and cutting the ribbon. Furthermore, His Highness pointed that this campaign will contribute to re-enforcement of King Abdullah’s legacy especially among the younger generations, even though he doesn’t need any introductions.
His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Abdullah said: “The objective of this campaign is to highlight the values and principles that King Abdullah, may Allah bless him, believed in. Those principles were reflected by his support to noble causes, science, economy, tradition, and other areas that, at the end, serves our country and its citizens.”
HRH pointed out that the number of the visitors to the campaign, here in Jeddah, and their reaction while staring at King Abdullah’s belongings and reading his history reflects what King Abdullah means to the great Saudi citizens.
HRH Prince Turki bin Abdullah added: ” Future generations have the right to know and learn about someone who devoted his life serving his country on multiple fronts and use him as role model for their generation. Therefore, it was very important to us to allocate a section for kids so that they would see, learn, and then take the lead with their full strength to fulfill the dreams of the king.
Further, I won’t forget to share my sincere thanks to my brother, His Royal Highness Prince Mishal bin Majed on his support and contribution in ensuring the success of this campaign in Jeddah.”
His Highness, the Chief Executive Office of the foundation praised the hospitality the campaign received in Jeddah and that it will be an additional motive to this campaign to continue its journey around Sixteen cities around Saudi Arabia before it finally stops at the great and permanent exhibition in Riyadh next year.
The campaign consists of Three trucks that holds a sample of highlighted belongings and history marks of King Abdullah throughout his personal, and political life. Further, the campaign is equipped with special booths that allows visitors to record video messages and share their opinions and memories of the King to be published at a later time.
